I also worked as one of the supervisors of renovation and architecture during the renovation of the main building and the construction of the annex building in this project.
The following text is quoted from the Tehran Beautification website:
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Tehran Beautification Organization, Faryar Javaherian, director of the Fooladvand House Renovation and Development Project, said about the conversion of this old building into the Museum of Iranian Calligraphy: Shemiranat leads, is a magnificent and at the same time very simple building with the architectural style of 2 years.
He added: "This house, which was one of the aristocratic neighborhoods of Tehran at that time, was built next to the Egyptian consulate."
The director of the Fooladvand House Renovation and Expansion Project continued: Gholamreza Fooladvand has been a representative of the two terms of the National Assembly of Iran in the 8th year. He started building the house at the same time.
Javaherian called the architecture of Fooladvand's house delicate and said: "Unfortunately, the architect of this building is unknown, but the character and architectural style of this building reveals that the building belongs to the 2-3 era."
He called Fooladvand House quite suitable for the calligraphy museum in terms of architectural texture and said: "Fooladvand House has an area of about 60 square meters, which is located in the form of a pavilion in the middle of the garden, while in this building The facade and the creation of revolving stairs inside, the use of cylindrical columns, the non-use of interior decorations and the creation of purity in the interior and exterior space have been fully utilized, which makes it suitable for becoming a museum.
The director of the renovation project of Fooladvand House called the reconstruction of this house a pleasure and stated: This house was the residence of Fooladvand family before the victory of the Islamic Revolution and after that it was abandoned. It was used, but it is gratifying that in the year 2, with the help of the Tehran Municipality Beautification Organization, this old house was purchased for reconstruction, renovation and revitalization to be used for cultural and artistic purposes.
Javaherian called the art of calligraphy a part of Iranian identity and said: "The characteristics of every nation's culture are reminded by art, so to remain immortal, art is still the most important choice, and especially, the most humane, while I think calligraphy is the pleasant face of our art." And there is a surprising wonder that the Persian language lasts.
He added: "On the one hand, the art of calligraphy has been artistically beautiful in our history, and on the other hand, it has guarded Persian literature in Sanglakh, our hatred and historical calamity. Therefore, we have a two-way connection with this art. Therefore, I think The branch of visual arts is the embodiment of Iranian culture and art.
Regarding the features of Fooladvand House to become a calligraphy museum, the director of the Fooladvand House Renovation and Expansion Project said: More than a thousand exquisite calligraphic works will be exhibited in this museum. To expand the infrastructure, two more buildings were added to the courtyard and added to the building.
Javaherian informed about considering the necessary infrastructure to turn this building into a museum and added: although Fooladvand House does not have a large area, but we have all the necessary infrastructure for a museum such as a reservoir, management room, etc., along with sections such as cafe, shop, We considered Gallery… to be a suitable space museum for the masters of this art and the general public.
He continued: "It was very important for me that the calligraphy museum could not only attract professors but also people to visit, so the planning was done in such a way that this place would be defined as a small and attractive cultural center."
